Ab Crunch Challenge Presents $110,000 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital

Nothing beats doing a good cause and staying healthy in the process. As far as the Lady of America fitness centers, their second annual Ab Crunch Challenge is well on its way towards delivering the goods as far as providing funds dedicated for the St. Jude Children Research Hospital.

The whole effort is done through donations from friends, family and co-workers. There are no costs involved for people who want to participate in the said event. To give you an idea, about 1,500 members participated in the event last year. The Ab Crunch challenge sees which participant can do at least 2,500 ab crunches within 60 minutes.

“The Ab Crunch Challenge is a wonderfully unique way to support the lifesaving work of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital,” said David L. McKee, chief operating officer and interim CEO of ALSAC, the fundraising organization of St. Jude. “Those who participate in this fun, annual fitness challenge each year inspire hope in our patients and help fund groundbreaking research and treatment that benefits children in communities everywhere.”

Rather than competition, it is really all about inspiration. And with the funds contributed, patients who are being treated may yet find hope for whatever they are experiencing at the moment. If you want to join, you can get ready for next year. The 2010 Ab Crunch Challengeā„¢ is slated for March 27, 2010.
