Berry Consumption Strengthens Positive Effects for the Human Body
Normally, we link berries to the ancient and medieval ways of finding the right ones, the right color and origin and associate them with the needs of our human body as far as health is concerned. But while we do acknowledge this fact (or fiction) it was not until today when some scientists revealed some studies at the 2009 Berry Health Symposium has it been made clear on what they could give the human body.
We have heard a lot of things about them. They are considered as herbs and elements that help us enjoy a healthy and longer life. However, now we have facts on the latest research which show the impact of berries on illnesses that include brain aging, cancer, cardiovascular disease and metabolism. It is actually the berry properties like antioxidants, anthocyanins, elagitannins and polyphenols play a vital role in fighting disease.
“We continue to be encouraged by new research that confirms that the dietary intake of berry fruits has a positive and profound impact on overall health, performance and disease,” said Dr. Jim Joseph, Director of the Neuroscience Laboratory, USDA Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging at Tufts University.
