Cardio Workouts to Drop Body Fat

Let’s face it, even some of the strictest bodybuilders slack off from time to time and put on some extra fat.  Of course this is not ideal, and there comes a time when you want to get rid of the fat.  While strenuous cardio workouts often hamper your ability to build muscle mass, it is the one thing that will help you drop the fat so you can get back to your bodybuilding workouts.

Here are a few cardio workout tips to keep in mind when you to drop that unwanted fat:

- Do a minimum of 30 minutes of cardio three times per week.
- If a continuous session of cardio seems boring, break it up into smaller segments.
- Do cardio either first thing in the morning or immediately after weightlifting.
- The Treadmill is the best fat-burning cardio machine.
- To maintain or enhance leg mass and strength, opt for the stationary cycle.
- Working out at 70% to 80% of maximum heart rate burns the most fat.
- Caffeine, carnitine, and HCA can help burn more fat during cardio.
- To preserve muscle, take 10 to 20 grams protein before cardio.
- Interval training will keep resting metabolism higher, and may lead to greater overall decreases in bodyfat over time.
