Gold’s Gym Hosts Burn-a-Thon
In a move to help curb down the fat, Gold’s Gym has partnered with the American Diabetes Association in an attempt over 180 million calories and 50,000 pounds of Fat through the Burn-a-thon event. This event will take place on November 7 and is open to anyone to participate in this record-setting event. Gold’s Gym and the ADA have set a world-record goal of burning 180 million calories in 24 hours, to demonstrate the need to “Do a 180″ on the growing diabetes epidemic.
The concept is quite simple. Anyone is invited to shed off calories for a cause at any time frame they so choose to do so. People can make use of various equipment like a treadmill or an elliptical machine to burn down those unwanted calories for a cause. Gold’s Gym has even created a special calorie guide that shows how many calories are burned with each activity performed at the gym. In the end, it can be advantageous to the individual as well since they get a free workout at any participating Gold’s Gym outlet and then make a donation to ADA through various merchandise purchases.
