Hoola Hoop Dancing Makes for a Good Workout

We are all aware of the hoola hoop, a toy that is normally used by kids to have some fun. Adults can use them too and can actually be a great workout if you really want to work out a sweat and get the whole body moving. It’s hoola hooping, but probably not like you remember.
Hoola Monsters founder Abby Albaum, 29, said hoop dance helped bring her out of a depression and tone up. Since picking up a hoop almost two years ago, she’s never looked back.
It’s a full range of motion. You are doing jumps and throws and leaps, and tossing it around your body and off your body. After you get comfortable moving around with the hoop, you’re able to add your own elements, like flairs of belly dance or hip-hop.It’s a great workout and you’re getting in shape, but it’s also mental.
The rocking sensation is like a baby rocking in its cradle. It’s soothing and has a lot of the same qualities and principles that go hand in hand with yoga.
