The Dash Diet

When we hear the word “diet”, we often refer to the body structure. But in some instances, dieting may not be totally pointing to that niche. In fact, there are some diets that do cater to healthy living but in the mental aspect. Something like focusing on memory and mind, one of the things that a person should also take into consideration as he or she ages.

“We can’t do anything about aging or family history, but research continues to show us that there are lifestyle decisions we all can make to keep our brains healthier, and that also may lower our risk of memory decline as we age,” said William Thies, PhD, Chief Medical & Scientific Officer at the Alzheimer’s Association.

The DASH diet should be something worth checking. It is made specifically for people with high blood pressure or pre-hypertension. The DASH diet eating plan has been proven to lower blood pressure in studies sponsored by the National Institutes of Health. High blood pressure is considered a risk factor for Alzheimer’s and dementia.
